Glenn Beck somewhat unexpectedly comes out against the calls of McCain and King and says that the Times Square suspect was entitled to have his Miranda rights read to him and to have his constitutional rights honored.
Unfortunately Beck can’t even do the right thing right. Beck keeps saying over and over again that we can’t deny him his rights (or ’shred the constitution’) because he is a citizen…stating that if he wasn’t a citizen (e.g. Umar Farouk AbdulMutallab) he doesn’t deserve any rights.
If Beck would only read the Constitution that he claims to hold so dear he would realize that the rights at stake here are explicitly given to all “people” or “persons” and not to “citizens.
